Operation Christmas Child

Hey Everyone:

Early this morning (Thursday), the Zak family and I, along with some people from Kopano Baptist Church, went to Onderstepoort Primary School to pass out Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes... This is an opportunity I have dreamed of, ever since I first heard of the Samaritan's Purse shoebox ministry. Over the years, I have been blessed to participate in putting together shoeboxes and helping in the warehouse to get shoeboxes ready for shipping. Never did I think that I would have the opportunity to pass shoeboxes out - I thought it was only a dream.

God, in His amazing grace, allowed my dream to become a reality. In all honesty, it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. To see the joy on the faces of the children, as they received what could possibly be their only Christmas gift this year, was very impacting. Another thing that stood out to me was the unselfishness of the children. Although, some shoeboxes were better than others, I never saw one instance when a child looked to his fellow classmate in jealousy. They were each excited by what they received personally, and were equally excited for their friends at what they received. These children were a true example to me of how to be selfless and consider others before yourself.

The pictures cannot do the event justice, but I hope you enjoy seeing the "end product" of the shoeboxes many of you put together each year. Thank you to each one of you who has participated in this important ministry. With every shoebox, we were able to give out a book with the story of Christmas and the gospel. Only God knows how many people will be impacted for Christ because of these shoeboxes.

Well, I am going to stop writing and let the pictures do the talking. I hope you enjoy the pictures. And, I ask that you will take a moment to pray for the children who received the shoeboxes - that they will come to know Christ as their personal Lord & Savior.

Seeking to be a servant,

Krista
